Here's Town on the attack in the F.A.Cup - it starts in August, really it does!

Hello All,
I do hope you all enjoy these pictures I took when Linda and I were on holiday in my homeland last month. We took in 3 games . . . from the Extra Preliminary Qualifying Round of The F.A.Cup at Booth Street, when Town played AFC Blackpool . . . to our pilgrimage to Mecca - Old Trafford- when United played Newcastle United on the opening day of the Premier League season . . . and we ended up at Wembley Stadium, where England played The Czech Republic in a friendly. It was a great and wonderful experience to enjoy these grounds again. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

We also had the privilege of going to Foxborough last weekend for the game between The New England Revolution and Los Angeles Galaxy. It was good to see David Beckham in action again live playing for a club team as well as for England. I saw him play for the first time when he was 17 for United's Youth team in the F.A.Youth Cup Final in 1992.

Best Wishes and keep listening to Match of The Day The USA Way every Wednesday on Valley Free Radio 103.3FM and online at http://www.valleyfreeradio.org/

Check this video out - it's got bugger all to do with football but it's very funny . . . call it the half - time entertainment! We do, on MOTD The USA Way, go a little off the beaten track on occasions but it's all in the name of entertainment!

New Year . . . Just As Good!

Good Morning All,

Hello, how are you all? We had a good show yesterday, with a great interview set up by Tim. Sam Coke, the Head Coach of the UMASS Men's Soccer Team called in and talked about the success of the team this season. It was good to hear him talk.

Interestingly, he recommended an organisation to check out if there are any aspiring coaches out there. The NSCAA ( The National Soccer Coaches Association of America ) was the place to start. I certainly thinnk it's something I'd like to look into. The website is www.nscaa.com

We also chatted about how our various teams have been progressing lately and also, on a more lighter hearted note, talked about football shirts. If retro, or throwback sirts are your thing, then the place to go as far as I'm concerned is www.toffs.com It stands for The Old Fashioned Football Shirt Company. It's based in England - Newcastle Upon Tyne to be precise, and it's a great idea for birthday presents or Christmas presents - or if you're feeling flush with your cash!

We finished the show nicely, teeing it up ( mixing my sporting metaphors here, but, do I give a rat's arse??!! ) nicely for next week by talking about the subject of illegal payments to players and managers and agents - bungs!

Music was supplied by the excellent Billy Bragg - all in all, another good show! Soon, they'll ( hopefully ) be recorded with the new equipment we have at the station. Then, finally ( ! ) we'll have the show online to listen to again and again. You can listen to us online at www.valleyfreeradio.org right now, however, if you are in the Pioneer Valley here in Massachusetts, good old fashioned radio is still available at 7.00am every Monday ( weather permitting ) on 103.3FM.

Until the next time - keep on loving the beautiful game
